This is a region in Southeast Asia that lies roughly between India and China and is culturally influenced by both countries. The term Indochina is exclusively used to denote the region that comprises modern-day Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Most of Indochina lie in the Tropical Monsoon belt and the area receives heavy rains and typhoons during the wet months. The interior highlands have cool and beautiful resorts. The main religion in this region is Theravada Buddhism or Hinayana Buddhism.
Indochinese are mostly of Mongolian descent but some are from the Malaynesian group. Most of them are still highly dependant on the land and sea for their livelihood.
